Role & Expertise

Working in audit for the past 6 years, I believe the true value of a good auditor lies in becoming a trusted advisor to my clients, using the knowledge and understanding of your business, combined with my experience and expertise, to provide tangible improvements and powerful advice on how your business can improve.

Instead of the “traditional” view of auditors as an unwanted regulatory requirement, I believe a good auditor goes beyond the financial statements, and gets to know not just how your business ticks, but why. This includes understanding your businesses’ story, its mission, and most importantly, how I can help you succeed in achieving your objectives. Almost all audits result in a signature on the financial statements, but I believe the power of the advice we are able to provide is worth infinitely more to you in the long term.

I am particularly passionate about professional practices and the leisure sector, combining my pre-audit background studying law and outside-of-work interests in sports and leisure with my experiences within practice. Over my 6 years in audit, I have developed significant experience in auditing both professional practices and businesses in the sports/leisure sector, including SRA accounts rules audits on the legal side, and the audit of a professional football club, including compliance with Financial Fair Play and other sector-specific frameworks.

Career

I joined Goodman Jones in July 2024, having spent the previous 5 years at Evelyn Partners, where I trained as an accountant. Prior to this, and making the move down to London, I completed a Masters in International Law at the University of Nottingham, as well as a Bachelors Degree in Business Studies at the University of Sheffield.

Interests

Despite possessing incredibly limited ability, I am an avid player and watcher of football, and a long-suffering Nottingham Forest fan thoroughly enjoying the club’s recent Premier League stint. When not bemoaning another Forest defeat, I am also the proud parent of a dog called Gigi, who takes up the majority of my free time, as well as being a keen follower of practically every other sport, most notably Cricket and American Football – often found out of office the day after the Super Bowl each year.
